Purlins are the go-to cold-formed section for carports, patios, sheds, granny flats and light commercial framing — straight, light, galvanised and easy to work.
We stock the four sizes builders on the Gold Coast ask for most: C100-15 and C150-15 in 6.1m, plus C150-19 and C200-19 in 8.0m. Other sizes and lengths available on order — we can get any size cut to the length you need.
Spans and load capacities depend on the gauge, spacing and roof load — we don't pretend to be an engineer. Bring or send the manufacturer's span table (or the engineered drawing), and we'll match the spec.

Finishes
How we finish it.
Standard supply is Z350-plus galvanised — the coating that lets cold-formed framing live outdoors and in roof cavities without rusting out. Cut ends should be touched up with cold-galv paint to keep the seal.

- What purlin sizes do you stock?
- Four sizes on the rack: C100-15 (6.1m), C150-15 (6.1m), C150-19 (8.0m) and C200-19 (8.0m). Any other size or length we can order in — cut to the length you need.
- Can you cut purlins to length?
- Yes — bandsaw to length on request. Touch up the cut ends with cold-galv paint to keep the corrosion protection.
- Do you supply span tables?
- We don't issue engineered span tables ourselves — the manufacturer (Lysaght, Stratco, Stramit etc.) publishes them for each profile. We'll point you at the right ones, or supply to your engineer's drawing.
- Will purlins rust on the Gold Coast?
- Galvanised purlins are designed for it — Z350+ coating handles standard residential exposure for decades. Within 1km of the surf, talk to us about heavier coatings for the saltiest spots.
- Do you deliver C purlins to Gold Coast building sites?
- Yes — daily delivery across the Gold Coast, Tweed Heads and Northern NSW, bundled tidy for the site.
