Round pipe earns its keep on jobs where tube has to look honest — handrails, balustrades, pool fence posts, rural gate posts, awning posts. Galvanised pipe also fronts up to plumbing, water and air-line work where black would rust through.
We stock the medium-weight series in galv and black, from 15NB (about a half-inch) up to 150NB (6 inch). Light wall for handrail work, medium wall for structural posts, all to AS 1074 / AS 1163. Standard length is 6.5m across the range.

Finishes
How we finish it.
Galvanised pipe is the default for outdoor and wet work — the dip protects inside and out. Black pipe is cheaper and welds cleaner; use it where you'll coat the job after fabrication.

Pipe to AS 1074 / AS 1163, medium grade typical. Hot-dip galv to AS/NZS 4680.

FAQ
Common questions on Pipe.
- What does NB mean on pipe?
- Nominal Bore — the rough inside size in millimetres. The outside diameter is bigger; 25NB pipe, for example, is 33.7mm OD. NB is the original inch sizing translated to metric.
- Is your galvanised pipe rated for water?
- Medium-grade galv pipe to AS 1074 is suitable for general water and air lines. For potable water or pressure work, talk to your licensed plumber about fittings and ratings.
- Do you stock structural CHS as well as pipe?
- Yes — circular hollow section (CHS to AS/NZS 1163) is also available. Different standard, different grade. Tell us if it's for engineered structural work and we'll quote the right product.
- Do you deliver steel pipe to the Gold Coast, Tweed Heads and Northern NSW?
- Yes — daily delivery runs across the Gold Coast, Tweed Heads and Northern NSW. Pipe loads up neatly on the crane truck or the standard tray.
- What's the longest pipe you can supply?
- Standard length is 6.5m off the rack. Longer special lengths to 12m available to order — talk to us about timing.
- Can you fabricate from pipe?
- Yes — cutting, welding caps, drilling and basic bending are all standard work through the fab shop.
- How much does galvanised pipe cost?
- Price depends on bore size, wall, length and finish (galv or black). Send the spec and we'll quote it same day.
